Maddie's First Birthday

We had a great time with Maddie's first birthday. We can't believe a year has already passed. Aunt Lorrie, Uncle Eddie, and Aunt Dawn were able to come from Cedar Park and we also had Noelle, Rob, Dawn, and Stephen from Houston. And Laura, Lucy, and Jake from New Braunfels. It was a great turnout despite the yucky weather. Here is a little view into the happenings. Maddie loved her cupcake and was grunting and groaning for it the whole time we were singing "happy birthday"! She knew just what to do with it. And Emily helped her eat it.

More February

Emily - 28 months

This is totally her fake smile, but she was so proud to have put this headband on by herself! She reminds me of my brothers with football helmets on.

Feeding the Ducks

Occasionally we take old bread and walk down to feed the ducks. This was the first time that Maddie was really interested. Emily took charge and was showing her how to do it. Maddie just wanted to squeal at them and eat the bread herself.

Ok, I'm going to try something new with the pictures. Here is a slideshow of the pictures. Let me know if you like slideshows better.

Fun February!

Pillowcase head! She was proud of herself.

Rewind: Mom George's birthday

We all headed to Sea Island Shrimp House for some grub! Then we came back to our house to eat some of the yummy turtle cheesecake that Joe made for Mom.

Maddie says "Happy Birthday Grandma". This is a good picture of her teeth that came through with a little help from the coffee table.

Life Happened

Someone out there may have noticed that we haven't updated this blog in forever, others probably have too much to do to notice such things. Its been a long stressful month. Our tenants turned half of the duplex back to us after 3 1/2 years. It was bad, very, very bad. I like to post cute pictures of my kids on this blog, so I will refrain from showing you what it looked like. They were cat owners, bad cat owners who did not change litter boxes enough (at all?). Joe and I have spent most nights and weekends there since then. It is now clean and fresh smelling and up for rent. Its bigger and more pricey than most in the neighborhood, so it will take us some time to rent it.

Joe and I are trying to get back into the swing of normal life where we see our girls everyday, don't live out of our cars, and eat home-cooked food. We were starting to get there and then I either got a stomach virus or food poisoning, so normal life is still postponed. I will post a few pics above of the few fun things we have done since mid-february
